Noah Ark Replica at Ipswich Waterfront!

Noahs ArkA huge replica of the Ark has been docked at the Ipswich Waterfront, with plans to stay for up to three months. The Ark is a museum in disguise, boasting an impressive four floors of exhibits, complete with a shop and café. Spanning all floors is a huge replica of the tree of life, found in the middle of the ship amidst the displays and sculptures. The exhibits showcase various biblical stories by using intricately carved wooden sculptures and interactive displays, and are sure to garner attention from even the youngest of inquisitive minds! Of course, there is enough detail and charm to suit older audiences too.

As the world’s only sea-borne museum, the Ark offers a uniquely entertaining experience to anyone wishing to look at Biblical stories from a different perspective, and is a great way to engage children with the Bible.

Pupils from St Margaret’s Church Of England Voluntary Aided Primary School in Ipswich will be attending a service on the Ark next week (week commencing 27th November) which is due to be filmed by the BBC for a Christmas episode of Songs of Praise!

The ark is open seven days a week, for more information please click here.

Little Free Pantry Initiative at St Andrews, Melton

Little Free PantryWe often speculate on how we can help those in need – especially in close-knit rural communities, where it is usually harder for people to reach out and ask for help. As Christians, we all strive to be neighbourly and welcoming, yet sadly in the hubbub of life we can often be swept up with our own priorities and find it difficult to lend a helping hand.

Just recently, St Andrew’s Church in Melton joined the Little Free Pantry initiative – a first for the whole of the UK!   Shelves are stocked with a variety of tinned goods and other non-perishable food items in the church porch, which has 24/7 accessibility so anyone can access it at any time should they need to. Operating on a “take what you need, give what you can” ethos, the pantry offers confidentiality, anonymity, and most importantly, a close-knit rural community heart. As Christmas steadily approaches, it is vital to remember our neighbours who may be in need, and gives those who can afford to give an opportunity to do so.

A Heavenly Gift - Saturday 23 November 7.30pm (Doors open at 6.45)

On Saturday 23rd November at St Augustine’s Church, Bucklesham Rd, Ipswich, internationally acclaimed Classical Chart topper Christina Johnston, who has graced opera stages all over the world, will perform beautiful songs from Mozart to Andrew Lloyd Webber all under the banner of A Heavenly Gift, accompanied by the very talented pianist, Jade Hey.
